I have been offered a Allen vinyl cutter, I do not know if it is any good, does this plotter have problems and what is a 13 year old cutter worth????. I did find out they still make parts for it they have the drivers for it. (called companyvery friendly and helpfull) the cutting force is 550 grams more than what I need. I would like to offer a good price for it but can't find anything so far on it online. back to surfing the net.

I have heard nothing but good about Allen Datagraph.
I don't think it is possible to have too much downforce..... Bernie owns one....maybe she will chime in or you can ask her. ~Inga |

Jack make sure you can get drivers for it still. I have read on other forums of folks getting old machines only to get them home and find they don't work with the software they have. Even if you have to get an old XP machine and just download your cut files to that it may be worth it.

I do have the Allen Datagraph 830 and have had it for about 16+ years.
Can't remember that far back. Yikes. Not knowing what I was getting into when I bought this ... I just lucked out. They are made on the east coast. Their tech support is absolutely the best. And they are nice. If you call them and ask to talk to one of the techs ... you can get any info you ask for. These guys know their product. No complaints on my end. Just don't ask me what its worth ... I wouldn't have a clue what any plotter is worth because I'm not in the market for a new one. Bernie |
