I got disposed of some A/O I put it in the trash that went out. Now I thought about it wondering is it hazard waste. I wet the dust down to prevent any dusting. I then put it in a secure bag. and put it in the trash
So fellow blasters who use A/O what is the proper way of disposal ???? What do we do with it after we blasted the hell out of it.

No it's not. Some people just put it in their flower beds.

Sorry, but I'd still put it in my garden.

If one is blasting lead based paint ... they should know the epa rules and follow them. Disposing
of anything with lead based paint is hazardous waste and must be disposed of properly which
includes proper permits.

I would hope that no one on this forum is foolish enough to be blasting anything with lead based
paint ... or anything else they don't have proper training to do.

Hi I still wonder about this stuff. I do not think the trash is it??

This spring I have too, don't want to do, some cement work! and I have read somewhere while looking into recycling it (A/O), that to make the cement stronger (like the Romans with coal ash) they are adding aluminum oxide to help hold it together and stronger, recycling the A/O? At this time do not have the time to research it. If I find it again I will post it.

I'm with Lane. Into the "garden" it goes (or for traction on ice or texture in paint).
If it's only an irritant to the lungs when inhaled (per OSHA and others), I'm not gonna' worry about dumping it with dirt (which is also an irritant or WORSE due to bacteria, etc.).

If you're concerned about the environment, think about the amount of gunk your car dumps onto the planet every year (one drop of used oil ain't much, but what if 1 million cars only drip once? and what about the tire rubber that is scrubbed off, etc.). Now THAT'S some hazardous waste...

'Anyone here using 500 tons of abrasive a year?

I like the idea of adding it into the concrete, it really wouldnt help strenthen it being a powder but if you had enough it could be a way to color the concrete, I used lamp black for my patio and it looks great...only used maybe a 5 gallon bucket for the whole thing and it is total BLACK and looks very nice. oh, the size is 28 foot by 10 foot
